Hollywood's well-known actress Marilyn Monroe died on August 1962 in a very mysterious condition. However, months before leaving the world, Merlin had a photo session with Canadian photographer Douglas Kirkland for Look Magazine.
These two photos taken in Beverly Hills on a November evening, one of which features Merlin lying down and looking up, and in the second he is holding a pillow tight, are among Merlin's last professional photographs. Now, global auction house Christie is going to offer these two photos of Merlin at its next auction.
Simultaneously, Kirkland's 1959 Hasselblade 500C cameras and their two Carl Zeiss lenses will also be auctioned. This auction will be held on October 29.
In addition to Monroe, Kirkland has also photographed many more celebrities including actress Brigitte Burdo, Audrey Hepburn, Sophia Lauren, Catherine Deneuve, singer Diana Ross,usician Billy Idol, Coco Chanel and painter Andy Warhol.
